Jamie's Farm Skipton 2025
This term, a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils from Woodlands have the incredible opportunity to attend Jamie's Farm in Skipton every Monday for six weeks. The programme offers the children a chance to step out of the classroom and experience life on a working farm, engaging in meaningful and hands-on activities that make a real difference to the farm’s daily life.
Each Monday, the pupils roll up their sleeves and get stuck into a variety of tasks. From feeding and caring for the animals to helping the farmer tend the land, they embraced the hard work with enthusiasm. They also took turns preparing a delicious lunch for one another, using fresh, local ingredients to create hearty meals that everyone enjoyed together. This teamwork and shared responsibility helped the children develop new skills, build confidence, and strengthen friendships.
Jamie’s Farm is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people by providing unique farm experiences that promote self-esteem, resilience, and a sense of purpose. With a focus on building positive relationships and learning through practical activities, the farm creates an environment where children can thrive. Woodlands has been visiting Jamie’s Farm Wales, and working with Skipton for the past four years, and the partnership continues to inspire and benefit our pupils in countless ways.
This year’s group of young farmers have truly embraced the spirit of Jamie’s Farm, and their efforts have been an inspiration to everyone back at school. We are proud of their hard work, and we can’t wait to hear more about their adventures as they continue their visits over the coming weeks!
