End of a Great School Year! ⭐
What a fantastic school year it's been at Woodlands! We've had so much fun, learned so many new things, and seen our children achieve amazing things. We've had lots of visitors to school, exciting trips out, and so much great learning happening every day. We are so incredibly proud of all our children!
Thank You! ❤️
A huge thank you to all our staff for their hard work and dedication this year. They've done an amazing job helping our children learn and grow. And a massive thank you to all our families too! Your support means the world to us and helps make Woodlands such a special place.
Goodbye Year 6! 💕
To our wonderful Year 6 children, it's time to say goodbye as you head off to secondary school. We will miss you all very much! We know you're going to do brilliant things, so go out there and make us proud!
Saying Farewell to Our Staff 👋
We also have to say goodbye to some of our amazing staff members who are moving on to new adventures:
-
Miss Smart and Miss Kendall are leaving to start new jobs at other schools. We wish them all the best!
-
Miss Simpson is retiring after 16 wonderful years at Woodlands. Thank you for everything, Miss Simpson – you'll be greatly missed!
-
Miss Nankanja is starting her teacher training with Co-op Academies in September. We're so excited for her new journey!
We wish them all the very best for the future.
Welcome to Woodlands 🌳
In September, we have a few new staff members joining our team!
- Mr Anderson, who will be teaching in Year 4
- Miss Jankowski, who will be teaching in Year 2
- Miss Sam and Miss Anna who will be joining our Midday Supervisor Team!
Have a Great Summer! 🏖️
Finally, we wish all our families a restful and safe break over the summer holidays. Enjoy your time together! We can't wait to see you all back at school on Wednesday 3rd September.
School day change from September 🗓️
From September 2025, the school day will finish at 3:25pm, instead of 3:15pm.
We are making this change so we can have a two-week break in October half term. This change was agreed after we spoke with parents and staff earlier this year.
Having a longer October break will help improve attendance all year round. It gives children and families a good rest before the busy winter term.
We also want to remind you of the summer dates:
-
School breaks up at 3:15pm on Friday 18th July 2025
-
We return to school at 8:40am on Wednesday 3rd September 2025
Summer Holiday Activities 🌞
There's loads of activities taking place in and near Harehills and Gipton over the summer holidays!
Help over the summer holidays ℹ️
Our team have put together a list of numbers and contact details that could be useful over the summer holidays when we are closed.
