    A message from Mrs. Clark

What a start to the new school year we have had!

Firstly, I’d like to thank our children for their kindness and understanding over the last few weeks. As you are aware, school was closed on Monday to mark the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II. In school, we have learned about her life, her achievements and following in her footsteps. We also held a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to her dedication and decades of service. Our children showed responsibility and I know I echo all staff when I say, they made us incredibly proud.

Secondly, I’d like to thank our parents. We have changed our school day to start slightly earlier and we have been overwhelmed by the support and understanding from our families to get children into school and in lessons on time. Thank you, and keep it up!

If you’d like to know more about our staff team, please visit Our Team page where you can find out who is supporting your children in their learning.

Don’t forget, if you have any questions or conerns about your child, please speak to your child’s class teacher, pop into the main school office or give us a call.

I am looking forward to the year ahead and cannot wait to share your children’s successes with you! We’ve got lots of exciting events coming up and we can’t wait to welcome you into school very soon.

    Mrs. Clark

An End of Year Message from Mrs. Clark

We have had a fantastic year at Woodlands. It has been great to be able to get together more, with in-person events like sports days, performances, class assemblies and breakfasts. Our children have made us proud, winning the Co-op Cup competitions and with multiple comments from visitors about their fantastic engagement and enthusiam.

I’d like to thank our you, our parents and carers, for your support this year, coming into school and taking part in events and sharing your children successes with us.

Thank you to our teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication, making a real difference for our children every day.

On Monday 25 July, your children can come to school in their own clothes, uniform does not need to be worn. We will also be holding an exciting attendance prize draw! Your child could win a brand new scooter! To be in with a chance of winning, make sure your child is in school on Monday!

4A visited the Education Centre at Ewden Water Treatment Works in Sheffield today as part of their water topic for this term.

The children were given a tour around the operational site where they were taken through the step by step process of how water is treated to get rid of the ‘baddies’, and how this is then released into our taps, healthy, clean and fresh for us to enjoy. The children enjoyed the interactive activities and left with some goodies from the education centre.

This week, Year 3 went to Magna in Sheffield.

The children had a great day exploring air, water, earth and fire. It was lots of fun looking around the museum learning about how the different elements are used. They even got to see a fire tornado!! At the end of the day, they had some time to play on the museum’s HUGE playground – the children and the adults enjoyed this! Miss Wilson and Miss Frame were really impressed with the children’s behaviour on the trip. They were all polite and patient whilst moving around the museum. Well done Year 3!
