Woodlands Weekly | 4th November 2022

Welcome back after the autumn half term. It’s been great to see our children and families back at the academy!

Thank you for coming to school on time every day and making sure your children are in school and ready for learning. We’ve got lots of exciting events happening this term, check the upcoming events section of the website to find out more.

Please make sure:

  • Children have their reading book, record and book bag in school every day
  • Children are wearing correct uniform every day, PE kit can be worn on PE days
  • School dinner money is paid to the main school office

Door opening times

We are going to keep our doors open for slightly longer on a morning to allow our families more time to get round the academy and drop off all children to their classrooms on time.

We hope you have a fantastic half term! Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

School Photos

On Friday 11th November, children will have their yearly school photos taken. This will happen in the school day for all classes.

If you would like to have a photo taken of all your children together, please come to the hall after school.

Attendance

Coming to school everyday allows your child to get the best possible education. We’ll work with you, to help your child attend as much as they can. We’ve got a great attendance so please get in touch if you’re having difficulties.

Nursery Pumpkin Carvin

This week, Nursery got into the halloween spirit and carved pumpkins!

The children enjoyed handling the pumpkins and were surprised at how slippery the seeds were when the adults cut them open!

Plan and Review Day

On Monday, our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children took part in our first Plan and Review afternoon.

The children worked together to discuss personal targets they want to work towards over the next half term and their future aspirations. We also had a number of visitors in school who talked to the children about their jobs, including an Occupational Therapist, a Food Safety Manager and a Director of Workforce for the NHS.

Our children showed great engagement and made us very proud!
