Woodlands Weekly | Friday 21st July

Thank you!

We have had a fantastic year at Woodlands. It has been great to have so many parents join us for a range of events in school. We’ve also welcomed lots of visitors into school who are always so complementary about our children. This year, our classes have been on lots of visits and experiences to enhance their learning, making memories that will last a lifetime.

I’d like to thank you, our parents and carers, for your support this year, coming into school and taking part in events and sharing your children successes with us.

Thank you to our teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication, making a real difference for our children every day.

We’d like to wish our Year 6 children the best of luck as they move on to high school. Be yourselves and come back to visit us soon!

Have a wonderful, safe summer break. See you back in the academy in September.

Online Safety over summer

Dear parents and carers,

We know that children are more likely to face online risks during holiday periods. Here are some links to help you keep your child safe online:

Childnet provides advice for parents and carers to help support children and young people in their safe and responsible use of the internet.

UK Safer Internet Centre provides tips, advice, guides and resources to help keep your child safe online

Educate Against Hate

If your child has a Co-op device that they have been given to use at home, systems are in place to monitor harmful content. However, the school staff who usually check on pupils who have tried to view harmful content will not be in school, so we may not pick this up as quickly as usual. Therefore, it’s even more important that parents and carers take responsibility for their children’s online safety when the academy is closed.

At Woodlands, we expect all school devices to be handed to the main school office before we break up on Friday 21st July.

We wish all parents, carers, pupils and colleagues a happy and safe summer break.

Kind regards,

Regional Safeguarding Leads
