Why these books?

This book is funny, action packed and full of great characters. Science lies at the heart of this story. There are authentic cultural references throughout, exploring Anisha’s Indian heritage.

Why these books?

This book is about a boy called Joe who is extremely rich; however, he has no friends. The book shows the importance of friendship over money. The book is by David Walliams and keeps the children from beginning to end.

Why these books?

These books teach the children about climate change and how they can look after the world. We then go on to use these books in our rainforest topic when discussing how we can look after and protect the rainforests.

Why these books?

Demon Dentist is another book by David William’s. The story is about children finding slugs, spiders and earwigs under their pillow after losing a tooth. The book hooks the children in as the characters try to find out who the culprit is.

Why these books?

Harry potter is an iconic childhood classic. It is filled with rich word choice to improve the children’s vocabulary. It teaches the children the importance of friendship, bravery and kindness.
