On Thursday 6th March, Co-op Academy Woodlands will be celebrating World Book Day. On the day, children can come to school dressed as a character, author or word. There will be lots of exciting things happening in school on the day.
Book Fair
Our bookfair will run from Tuesday 11th to Monday 17th March at 3:15 – 3:45. You will be able to purchase books for your children to enjoy at home. Money raised at the book fair contributes to free books for our school.
Fancy Dress Hire
This year, we have teamed up with Rubies & Parentkind who have donated over 200 fancy dress costumes for our pupils. If you would like to borrow a costume for your child to wear on World Book Day, please come and collect these from the school hall on Wednesday 5th March at 3:15. Costumes will be handed out on a first-come basis. These should then be returned to school, in the packaging they were given in, on Friday 7th March.
World Book Day Reading Café
On Thursday 6th March, we are having a reading café in the school hall for parents and children at 2:30 – 3:15. You will be able to spend time exploring books and reading with your child, as well as enjoying free refreshments. Each child that attends will get a raffle ticket and there will be a reading hamper for three lucky children! If you are attending, please come to the main hall. A member of staff will collect your child from their class for you. Please complete and return the slip at the bottom if you will be attending.
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Richley
Assistant Headteacher
