Woodlands Weekly | 28th March 2024

Welcome to the last Woodlands Weekly of the Spring term! 🌳💐

A message from Mrs Clark

It's been another fantastic term at Woodlands. We've had super cars in school, children competing in a range of sports competitions, a Maths Olympics, World Book Day, Red Nose day, lots of trips out and visitors into school, not to forget some amazing learning taking place. Our children have recently completed assessments, and we can't wait to share their successes with you at Parents' Evenings after Easter.

From everyone at Team Woodlands, we'd like to wish all our families celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Eid Mubarak! And a happy Easter to all in our community who are celebrating too. We hope you enjoy time together with loved ones for these special celebrations.

We break up today, Thursday 28th March.
We return at 8:40 am, on Monday 15th April.

Have a safe, restful holiday.

Mrs Clark

If your child is unwell, please continue to provide medical proof of illness. This does not include photographs. Whilst we appreciate that some doctors' surgeries ask for photographs, this is not our policy and breaks our safeguarding protocols.

If you have any questions, please give us a call.

We are a nut-free academy ✅

At Woodlands, we provide a safe learning environment for all students.  Due to some of our pupils having nut allergies, we will become a nut-free school.

Do not give children nuts or snacks that contain nuts to eat at school.

Parents' Evenings 👏

Parents' evenings are a chance for us to share your child's successes with you! We are looking forward to seeing you at parents' evenings in the first week back after the Easter Holidays.

Y5 and 6 Online Safety 📱💻

We've recently shared a new Online Safety Guide for parents with our Year 5 and 6 children. If you'd like a digital copy, you can download this here.

We teach our children to be S.M.A.R.T. online!

Supercar Easter Egg surprise! 🚘🥚

On Friday 22nd March, two children from each class who have 100% attendance so far this year were randomly chosen to spend some time in a Supercar! A burnt-orange Bentley drove up to school, and the children were treated with time in the car, and an Easter egg!

Ancient Egypt with Dan Tastic in Year 3 👍

Year 3 spent the day with Nick from Dan Tastic Education learning about Ancient Egypt! The children looked at lots of artefacts and learnt how mummies were made!

SATs Competitions in Year 6 👍

Year 6 joined together in teams to improve their previous SATs paper scores! For every mark gained, they added a counter for their team. Despite it being close, Team 1 and 5 collected 99 more marks each!
