Y1 Visit Berkeley Court Care Home

This term, Year 1 children have been exploring the topic of “Who am I?” learning about themselves, their families, the local area, and how people age. To bring their learning to life and spread some holiday cheer, the children recently visited Berkeley Court Care Home.

The visit was a heart-warming experience for everyone involved. The children enthusiastically sang a selection of festive Christmas songs, filling the care home with music and joy. Their performance brought smiles to the faces of the residents, who clapped along and shared in the festive spirit.

After the performance, the children spent time chatting with the residents, asking them about their lives and sharing stories about their own families and experiences. The time together was truly special, as the residents reminisced about their own childhoods and shared words of wisdom with our children.

This visit not only supported the children’s understanding of the ageing process but also helped them appreciate the importance of kindness, community, and building relationships across generations.

A huge thank you to the staff at Berkeley Court for welcoming us so warmly and to the Year 1 children for their wonderful singing and caring attitudes. This festive visit was a memorable moment for everyone and reminded us all of the joy that comes from connecting with others in our community.

We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
