Lift The Ban Campaign
Published 29/04/24This year, our Pupil Parliament members in Year 5 and 6 are working on an important project affecting people up and down the country.
Right now, right here in the UK, people seeking refugee status are banned from working whilst they wait months, and often years, for a decision on their asylum claim. Instead, they are left to live on just £7 per day, struggling to support themselves and their families.

Online Safety - Year 5 and 6
Published 26/03/24Dear parents and carers,
After a rise in incidents online including inappropriate and sexualised language, Mrs Clark and I hosted an assembly with Year 5 and 6 around online safety last week. We wanted to share some key messages with you about this.
- Using platforms like Snapchat and Instagram under the age of 13 goes against their set age restrictions.
- By allowing children on platforms, such as snapchat or Instagram, there is a risk they will be exposed to content that is not appropriate for their age.
- Inappropriate language, such as swearing or threats, or sexualised language is not ok online.
- As a school, we have a zero-tolerance policy around use of inappropriate language in school and if an incident arises, we will issue internal suspensions, known as a C4. This is stated in our Positive Behaviour Policy.
We have put together a leaflet for parents to support you in helping your children to stay safe online. This leaflet is attached to this letter, and is available in a range of languages which can be collected from your child’s teacher.
